The Fundamentals of Edge Blending

Presented by Jonathan Brawn - Brawn Consulting

Edge blending is truly a technique that is part art and part science. In this seminar we will explore what edge blending is and take a closer look at the elements that affect what we ultimately see on screen. Of utmost importance are the screen technologies that work and do not work for edge blending. We will look at how edge blending actually works and examine the projector layout, installation and pixel overlap. We will then explore edge blending processing and see how it all comes together. Finally we will look at brightness matching as well as color matching to see how we can make this all look like a contiguous image from a single projector.

Some of the Panasonic Projectors that are most relevelant to this topic will be reviewed.

The Art of "Techorating" with Displays for Commercial Applications

Presented by Alan Brawn, Principal, Brawn Consulting

No, we didn't make the word up. "Techorating" is a catchy term coined back in 2008 by television's interior designer of choice, Doug Wilson, as a concept for the emergence of integrating display technologies and home decor in balance with one another. Over the last couple of years we have seen "techorating" migrate to commercial applications as well as digital signage. Techorating is the blending of modern display technologies with the art of decorating a space to ensure that the design and electronics suit the style and function of the space. The successful "techoration" of a space can serve as a functional and decorative part of the system and in the process expand the look and feel of the environment. This seminar explores the process of "techorating" a space, applications for "techoration" in commercial AV and digital signage applications and shows examples of "techorating" in practice and last but not least some cool products for "techoration" that you just might want to consider.

With more than two decades of expertise, Alan is an AV industry veteran. Prior to founding Brawn Consulting, he served as the President of Telanetix and was National Business Development Manager and National Product Marketing Manager, Pro AV Group at Samsung Electronics. His experience also includes managing a Pro AV systems integration company as well as co-founding Hughes-JVC. He holds CTS certification, is a CTS Prep instructor, and is a member of InfoComm's PETC council as well as being an adjunct faculty member of that organization. Alan was the recipient of the Pro AV Hall of Fame recognition from rAVe in 2004.

Touching the Future of Whiteboards with Samsung

Presented by Jonathan Brawn, Principal, Brawn Consulting

Gone are the days when offices and educational institutions were required to use conventional chalkboards or marker whiteboards for learning or collaboration. It is the age of interactive touch displays, and it has started an evolution in how we interact with information. Smartphones and touch devices are everywhere, and the day has dawned where everything we work with is starting to come equipped with a touch screen. Samsung has joined this movement by not only introducing a full line of touch enabled displays, which is a unique proposition among first tier display manufacturers, but also by adding a free digital whiteboard solution to their product line up. Paired with a touch monitor, this provides a complete collaborative solution that is very cost effective. This webinar is designed to provide you with an introduction to Samsung's new digital whiteboard software solution, it's setup, and it's use, including the new classroom e-learning system available as part of the digital whiteboard package.

LED LCD televisions are relatively new to the industry, and they have many advantages over the traditional CCFL LCD sets that we are accustomed to. Some of these advantages include greater energy efficiency (in fact, the Sharp LE series boasts the most energy efficient TVs on the market today!), a more uniform picture which produces darker blacks and brighter colors for an overall better viewing experience, and a longer lifetime than traditional CCFL models—up to 100,000 hours!

Join us for an informative webinar on Light Emitting Diodes in LCD TVs and learn about the differences and advantages of Sharp’s full array LED over CCFL and other existing LED technologies plus insight into where this technology is headed.

This session is complete with demonstrations of advanced features such as Optical Picture Control, AQUOS Net, 120HZ De-Judder functionality, Sharp's new X-Gen panel, and more. Scott will also discuss the E77 AQUOS lineup and Sharp’s service and support.
