The GS1 is an innovative flush-mount wall microphone that can also be used as a ceiling microphone when drop ceiling tiles are not available. Designed for distance miking, the GS1 features include a fully integrated preamp, an extremely high sensitivity rating of 38 millivolts, and complete immunity from RF interference caused by cell phones and GSM devices. The GS1 capsule is housed within a patented cradle that enables the microphone to be aimed up to an angle of 40 degrees towards the sound source. Its small footprint and flush-mount configuration allow the microphone to be unobtrusive without sacrificing sound quality. The GS1 terminates in a terminal block connector and is easy to install into a standard single gang box. A 2.75-by-4.5-inch mounting plate is included. The GS1 comes in stock satin nickel finish and is also available in white.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
The GS1 is a low impedance microphone and should be plugged into a "mic level" input on your DSP, mixer, or recording device. The GS1 requires phantom power and will NOT operate without phantom power voltage (18-52 Volts) which is available on most professional mic preamps and mixing devices. If phantom power is not available on your equipment, you will have to procure a phantom power supply (such as the Audix APS2). Avoid plugging or unplugging the microphone into or out of the audio system unless the channel is muted or the volume of the system turned down. Failure to do so may result in a loud "popping" noise which could seriously damage the speakers in the sound system.
